Q; Why
use professional photographers ?
A; Professional photographs will sell your image, product or service
- poor quality photography will not, and the images produced are individual
to you,
Q; How do we charge for our photographic services ?
A; We have a set rate for many of our services and then you can add
what other additional services you require.,We take into account other
factors, which include:
> How & where the images are to be used eg:-personal websites,
advertising, corporate work, press, posters, etc.
> Length of time images are being used. eg:- 6 months, 12 months,
2 years etc.
> The 'territory' where the images are being used eg: local, national,
international etc.
> Any photoshop or post production required will have to be charged
on an individual basis.
If your work is on a tight budget,we will say what you can expect
for that amount. Whatever your budget, the cost for models, make-up
artists, travel, overnight accommodating that may be required will
have to be charged for in addition to the photography or filming fee,
as will digital retouching and other post production work. All our
photography costs are quoted in ful
Q; Who owns the copyright in the images taken ?
A; In the same way authors, designers or musicians control who can
reproduce their text, designs or music, photographers control who
can reproduce their images. As we are the authors of the 'original
works' we retain the copyright in the work.- The Copyright, Designs
& Patents Act 1988.
Q; Why don't we get the right to use your images wherever
we want to ?
A; To buy the copyright in the images will often be too expensive
or not economical for you, which is why we offer the choice to license
our images for a fraction of the buy out price. This means you are
only paying for what you use.
Q; What if we want to use images for something we don't have a license
for ?
A; Simply give us a call and we will negotiate a new license with
you to reflect your new requirements. Please ensure you have written
permission BEFORE you use any images outside of your current license.
Q; If we have paid for the images, why can't we do as we wish
with them?
A; If you buy computer software or a music CD, this does not include
the right to make copies of the software, or the right to reproduce
the music. Those rights remain with the copyright holders. Having
ownership of the medium,(ie:a digital file), does not mean you own
the content of the images, therefore, the content of any image taken
by us remains our copyright and without a license, copying or further
reproduction of any image/s is not permitted under the Copyright,
Designs & Patents Act 1988.
If you need to extend any license or want to buy out the copyright
in our work, we will be happy to negotiate an appropriate fee with
you. We look forward to speaking to you soon.
